Lost In Your Eyes

The day we met You captured my heart My broken past With you, i have a new start We dated some time Our love made a stance I was lost in your eyes Boyfriend, girlfriend romance We wined and dined Danced and kissed Even discussed Our future exist We got engaged Eventually married Four children we had You blossomed and carried We watched them grow Into fine young souls Our future want Parental goals But where have we been Where did we go Our evaporation Disappearing afterglow It feels like our hearts Have said their last goodbye's For now i feel Lost in your eyes http://www.thehighlanderspoems.com/loss-3.php

Very sad. Too bad no one gets to learn of the possibility that these days will com. Perhaps if we did none of us would get married (smile) Peace, Audrey

Thank you for your warm comments on my poem. And your poem. . . the sadness of loss like a sad refrain, lingers long after reading it.

We do sometimes forget why we fell in love when living life and children take over for so many years, I hope that you can find yourself in those eyes again, Highlander! Beautifully written! ~Trudy~

This is so sad, James, and it comes straight from your loving, romantic heart. It is very difficult to cope with feeling "lost" in the eyes of someone you loved. Beautifully written! Love you, Carolyn

You are still there. It takes getting back to the dating years to renew the romance. I hope this is just a poem about this topic. Keep writing. Sara

James, "Love and marriage go together like a horse and carriage." That phrase has truth. The horse and carriage carry the family along its way. But, if either the horse or carriage choses to go in a different direction, there is a tug of war that can break the connection and might even snap. Forever ending the pleasant ride. But, if they decided, together, to compromise, looking through love's eyes, again, the planned destination, can be reached. Good happens when love tries. Great write.

Beautifully written, James. I hope you find each other again or at least have found yourself/herself. Congrats on your four wonderful children!
