Lost In Time

For once, My emotion is simple and clear. Love, Companionship, Trust. I find you Walking the path to my heart. Tidying it up, Making it whole. Letting the light shine through my eyes. A mere touch between lips, Just think of the damage we could do. You’re like a poison, A poison that stops your heart While in steady beat and pace. Not desiring the future, but the present. The pleasure of being lost in time.

I have read this enticing poem many times and find the emotions are intense and conflicting. In the first part, you have found a true soul mate. But then comes the "poison". You know this love will not sustain. There is tragedy awaiting if you pursue it. Yet you cannot resist. The lustful temptations of the present. If only we could disconnect ourselves from future repercussions. But alas we cannot. You lay this all out with wisdom and feeling. I love your work! ...BH
