Lost In Time
Tick-Tock!
I heard my clock whisper in this dark night,
There, I lay down at “1:00 am” awake on my bed,
Trying to fall asleep, but my eyes refused to close,
Tick-Tock!
The ticking continued,
As I felt pressure forcing my eyes to stay open,
I viciously breathed with every tick I heard,
Darkness covered the room,
Like a black cloth covering my eyes,
I could hear nothing but the screams of the silence,
Followed by the clock’s songs,
Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock!
Solemn moments passed,
Covering seconds of solitude,
Time is dissolving into emptiness,
Abandoning the days,
I sat there thinking,
Wondering about the web of time,
I smiled and said confusedly, “It is funny how time goes by!”
Stories become legends by a blink of an eye,
Elapsed,
Gone away becoming the “Past”
These joyful memories, didn’t last,
I felt a tear slithering down my face,
As I reminisced,
All the thoughts rushed in and out of my head
Making me incomprehend myself,
My feelings made a chain of confusion,
I wondered if this was an illusion,
Tick-Tock!
The sound of it revived me,
I regained my focus,
Inhaling deeply,
I lifted my body and sat motionlessly on my bed,
I felt the exhaustion swim in my bones
After the battle inside my head,
Not knowing the time I spent thinking,
I lifted my arm to see what time it was on my watch,
“1:04 am”…
