Lost In the Moment

Lost in the moment, so perfect, complete; gazing adoringly, flush with the thrill. Waltzing, she stands on her daddy's two feet, all else on pause now, just time standing still. Gazing adoringly, flush with the thrill. He is her hero; his armor shines bright. All else on pause now, just time standing still. Staves off the heaviness, holds back the night. He is her hero; his armor shines bright. Gone are the shadows, abandons all care. Staves off the heaviness, holds back the night, darkness receding as he rocks her there. Gone are the shadows, abandons all care; With perfect small hands, she clings to his coat. Darkness receding as he rocks her there, holding her gently, a lump in his throat. With perfect small hands, she clings to his coat; waltzing, she stands on her daddy's two feet. Holding her gently, a lump in his throat, lost in the moment, so perfect, complete. ————— for the Rhyming Pantoum of Five Stanzas Poetry Contest sponsored by L Milton Hankins written on 05/06/2022

Thanks, Paulette, yes, I was thinking of a little girl who had nightmares or some such heaviness, but I wasn't sure that was very well developed...

I was sure I had commented on this wonderful Pantoum. I guess I'm guilty of not hitting the validate button. So sorry, but big congratulations for such high placement in Milt's contest. You're a valuable asset to PS, Jeff.

Thanks, Jenna, it's fun being out here. Cut back a little since I first joined, but summer is a busy time for us
