Lost In the Cornfield

Inspired by Sunshine Smile’s “Escape From Reality.” And also Caren Krutsinger who plays with imagination. LOST IN THE CORNFIELD Why do I wanna get lost in the cornfield At first because it is new and exciting, not knowing what to expect Later they are filled up with fog, and monsters My husband has no interest in playing the game I want to take the teen and little guy into the fray A sideline: while on the haywagon at the back of the field some thing lobbed a corncob at the driver We head out, i glance back, like a teen, pink with excitement. missed out. Probably not all that… But that is my adult voice speaking up ~ Shhhhhhhh 11/2/2020

Many of us live in that cornfield. Mysterious, somewhat dangerous. I recall the Twilight Zone episode when the boy sent people to the cornfield that he didn't like. I wonder who else might be there.

'Lost in the Cornfield' sounds really, really good to me right now, hunkering down here in Chicago. ~ Imagination and Machinations, Gershon

Were you the lobber of the corncob then my friend? I cannot picture you doing it, and yet again, you were reliving youth.

There is always a child in us. Most of the time we restrain ourselves. On occasions we fly high. There's fun in this poem. ~~

The line between adult and child-at-heart is very fine some days. It appears you balance the two well. Nice write!

Nothing wrong with being young again... be careful not to venture too much into the cornfield, you may get lost... do you know the song, fields of gold, I love it...
