Lost In Autumn
I chose to run,
I chose to leave,
I couldn’t understand her,
We were together but apart,
Her eyes conveyed words her mouth didn’t speak,
Her eyes spoke volumes I couldn’t decipher,
Times I persuaded her to speak,
Her voice trembled,
I told her to let me through her midnight,
Tears streamed down her eyes,
Slowly her beauty receded,
Her visage plummeted,
I suggested we seek help,
She declined,
Her silence and suffering were killing me slowly,
I was about to lose my marbles,
She walked through a door and wasn't seen,
A mystery yet to be unravelled,
Only if I had held on a little longer,
Only if I had persevered a little more...
