Lost Cause

Is it wrong
To want love?
To be the giver and receiver
Of a feeling that eludes most
But leaves some satisfied
Or will I be continually
 Denied
Of this mysterious gift
From God...
Meaning, I literally hunger for
More than the scraps that fall
to the
Floor
The leftovers of broken hearts
or
Scheming ways from when she
did you this
Or that way...
But I'm not her
So why are you making me
pay?
While you play tug of war with
my heart
My body you desired
Conspired to conquer
Just that
Although I mapped out my
soul...
"Why won't you take all of me"
I consoled myself
Wiped my own tears away
In fear of you leaving me
Alone
But your heart was never there
And in despair and desperation
I moved on to another with
My broken heart from our
So-called love affair
Only for love to elude me
again...
Is it me or the men I choose?
And if its me or my choices,
then either way...
 I lose.
