Lost Before I Had You

Hello, my love,
The love I cannot have.
So much love that I cannot hold,
Overflowing, yet trapped inside.
I cannot express it,
While someone bold
Is unafraid to bare her heart to you.
Do you sense this quiet feeling?
I reach for you in silent ways,
But she dares what I cannot.
I love you, my love,
Yet you seem like something I can never truly have.
My heart aches to imagine
Your joy with another.
It feels like a game I cannot win,
A competition I always lose.
I wish to keep you for myself,
But time won't turn back
I lost you when I never really had you,
And now, I fear I've lost you forever.
