Notes About The Poem

Lost and Found

Lost And Found

I don't know how I do it,
maybe I just lost my mind.
The thing that I am looking for
the thing I cannot find.

I look around, I say to me
I've been to stranger places.
Then I look again and see
there's only strangers faces.

I don't know how I do it,
I can't pay what it cost.
Each time that I find myself,
I find that I am lost.

So weary oh so weary,
I guess I'm not that strong.
The younger me I cannot see
just packed up and moved on.

So here I sit in silence
and I listen to its sound.
I can't deny it it's too quiet
when lost is where I'm found.

You excel in these "alone and lonely themes" Ed. Much as I appreciate your poetry, I cannot help but hope that someday, I'll read an autobiographical piece from you saying you've found happiness with someone who will love you for the rest of your life. Hugs and blessings ! Kim

A poets eyes. Those are what you see me with. Your response caused a stirring within that even the poem itself did not. Because I know you've seen past the words I wrote. Maybe someday that will happen. But for now Poetry is where I find my comfort and all that goes with it. Hugs Kim. Thank you. For being you.
