Lost

There once was a girl who had simplicity.
Her life seemed full of everlasting sunshine.
Then came the dreaded day when
Purity disappears from inside
As the truth comes crashing in
Realization becomes her curse
Her mommy had become a complexity.
And daddy, her once superman...
Well, apparently he no longer seemed to care.

As she watched him walk away
Her innocence was purged.
As she watched him walk away
Her fantasy life burned.

Parenting herself through the pain
She had the world to blame
Answers were distant
Her mind in solitary confinement
Somebody had to see
Somebody had to care
Ultimately she had to come to understand
That’s life and there’s no one, but herself.

As she began to walk away
Her strength emerged
As she began to walk away
Her prevailing life endured.

Hi Grace. Don't know why I was drawn to this write. So sorry for what you have been through. Stolen childhoods are devastating. Was captured by your words and couldn't stop reading. Love, Shar
