Lost

Warm hued dreams have faded
their now meaningless colors washed
turn pale shades of gray
hopelessly coved by frost

Loves soulful summer breezes
as soft as angels hair
surrender to chilling winds of sorrow
stilled by distance, overcome with dispair

An affinity once regarded as eternal, sadly now is not
grasped by the cold hand of fate
love and happiness pay the highest cost

One heart turned away
one heart broken
and a destiny is lost
