Losing It

Can you believe
Instead of caring for one another
Right under our nose
We are losing it
While our eyes are opened
To the noise and din
Our ears are closed
To what's within
Why we fail to realize
What is happening now
Is camouflaged by the opiate
Called news
All orchestrated by denials
To create changes
So that liberty we once possessed
Is no longer applied

We can no longer focus
On what is meant to be
Because we are distracted
By fake news and political chicanery
Which we fail to see
Celebrated and feted with idolatry
In a reckless dalliance that has no path
Separation of mind, soul, body and heart

Some parade as leaders of men
But do not let nature take its course
When we are still mired by the vagaries of history
That causes confusion and strife
They forget the common purpose
Of providing comfort and care
We are sheep in arid pastures
Neither watered or fed
With silted and barren vision
In tired and weary heads
So our faith is sealed
And dreams are slain
With faded hopes, our new refrain.

Reggae, this is a very descriptive and thought-provoking poem. There is much chaos and loss now. Some leaders don't seem to know what to do next. Well, they've never dealt with the combination of troubles we have now. Janice
