Lord Let My Focus Be On You
O Lord, please let my focus be on you
Not on the things I feel that I must do
My restless life so oft desired the new
And quickly weary, many times withdrew
My enterprise and office I resign
My brilliant plans turned out to be benign
A failed design embraced this heart of mine
And my ambition I had drunk as wine
A mission now provides me an escape
A place to hide and feel I maybe safe
In haste I fill my empty heart that gape
And waste the grace my soul untried to shape
I always thought I had the right to quit
And never knew thy purpose would repeat
Each tie I failed thou sifted me as wheat
That I may learn to do thy will my meat
O help me Lord each time when I give up
To see thy goodness more than just enough
