Lord Help My Faith To Grow

Lord help me to desire my faith to grow
A tree with branches thick must have deep roots
For strength against the stormy winds that blow
And in the midst of summer bring much fruit

I find my heart has grown so bitter cold
For darkness quenched my light of life on earth
Then swiftly did my eyes felt tired and old
And such despair I have not known since birth

Thy word hid deep I pray would spring to life
The time is ripe and I must move along
Behind the clouds the sun still shines so bright
And every night lives with delightful song

Lord give me faith by shallow hearts unseen
Yet deeper grows with thy words found within
