Lord Have Mercy

Tears crept slowly down her small, pale cheeks as she lay so frightfully still, her body paralyzed overcome and overwhelmed by fear and dread was it only yesterday? Yesterday came like any other, without warning yesterday, oh yesterday should have never come yesterday, a random, reckless drunkard struck her yesterday, her vibrant, vivid life crumbled and went numb. She could only tremble on the inside now for her lifeless body was completely disengaged trapped in a prison not of her making, with desperation she pleaded to God for a miracle...Lord, have mercy! Thank you, Mark. I wrote it for a contest where the sponsor wanted a sad write, so I did this one.

Hi Laura, This is a good entry for the contest. I could feel the fear and sadness within this write. Due to your skillful hand I could see the scene so clearly. I have feeling you will be on the winner's list. Good luck in the contest: -) Alexis
