Lord God, You Are My Sword Sharpener

August 9 Relationship to God Bible Meditations Based on Ezekiel 21-24 Key Verse – Ezekiel 21:9 … Thus saith the LORD; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished.
LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY SWORD SHARPENER Lord God, You are my sword Sharpener against my sinfulness Thank You for melting my transgressions by Your righteousness To be refurbished with Your cleanliness As I set my face toward Your reigning holiness. Lord God, You are my sword Sharpener against my pride’s fury Thank You for consuming my loftiness in Your glory To be delivered by Your meekness-victory As I fuel my humility with Your sacrificial story. Lord God, You are my sword Sharpener against my desperation Thank You for smiting my frustration through Your compassion To be disciplined by Your dealing sanction As I enjoy my inheritance with Your constant inspiration. Lord God, You are my sword Sharpener against my carnal achievement Thank You for sanctifying my heart from guilt’s judgment To be purged by Your checking accomplishment As I confess my fruitlessness for servanthood-fulfillment. Lord God, You are my sword Sharpener against my deceitfulness-blight Thank You for correcting my heart from arrogance-flight To be girded by Your wisdom of Scriptural insight As I submit my ignorance to Your caring delight. Lord God, You are my sword Sharpener against my futility Thank You for plucking off my filthiness and impurity To be washed by Your blood-whitening chastity As I entrust to You my trust that desires faith’s miraculous reality. Lord God, You are my sword Sharpener against my selfish choice Thank You for hindering my ways that listen to perversion-voice To be directed by Your excellence-poise As I open my ears to Your Word, conquering unbelief’s noise.
