Lord God, You Are My Shining Light

July 19 Relationship to God Bible Meditations Based on Isaiah 60-66 Key Verse – Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY SHINING LIGHT Lord God, You are my shining Light, against gross sin-darkness Thank You for building up my faith by Your righteousness With Your forgiveness midst peaceful brightness And converting power of holiness. Lord God, You are my shining Light, against wasting forces Thank You for beautifying my life with Your virtue-braces With Your everlasting life that blesses And fulfilling stewardship toward goodness’ praises. Lord God, You are my shining Light, against bad tidings’ blow Thank You for strengthening my conviction by Your truth-glow With Your direction of instruction I must follow And constant covenant-upholding against grievous sorrow. Lord God, You are my shining Light, against lack of peace Thank You for shielding my heart with Your care that does not cease With Your exalting name without iniquity’s grease And Scriptural standard, devoid of faulty crease. Lord God, You are my shining Light, against fainting might Thank You for conquering my fear by Your courage-fight With Your salvation’s assurance to smite doubts’ blight And sanctification to overcome confessed sin-caused fright. Lord God, You are my shining Light, against false leadership Thank You for warming my spirit around Your fellowship With Your zeal of ruling kingship And upholding for my triumphant worship. Lord God, You are my shining Light, against attacking adversary Thank You for empowering my service by Your victory With Your Gospel of glorious love story And dominion to conquer my pride’s story.
