Key Verse – Nahum 1:7 The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY GOOD STRONGHOLD
Lord God, You are my good Stronghold against attacking furious adversaries
Thank You for being slow to anger as regards my confessed bad stories
While rebuking me of my worries and doubt-caused miseries
So that I can stand before Your assured victories.
Lord God, You are my good Stronghold against pursuing grievous darkness
Thank You for being wise to counsel my mind from lurking hopelessness
While freeing me of my pride’s yoke by Your peacefulness
So that I can obey Your commands with willingness.
Lord God, You are my good Stronghold against fortifying carnality-might
Thank You for being excellent to correct my transgression-blight
While forgiving me of my confessed sins in my prayer-plight
So that I can follow Your leadership toward service-height.
Lord God, You are my good Stronghold against spoiling wicked iniquity
Thank You for being gracious to fill my nothingness and futility
While sanctifying me of my admitted void midst vanity
So that I can cling to Your truth of great certainty.
Lord God, You are my good Stronghold against hurting deceitful lies
Thank You for being merciful to correct my ties to worldly advice
While lifting me up from my stumble into materialistic device
So that I can seek first Your kingdom and spiritually arise.
Lord God, You are my good Stronghold against gripping painful affliction
Thank You for being gentle to comfort my soul midst critical situation
While helping me from selfishness and haughtiness’ destruction
So that I can stay in Your security-braced protection.
Lord God, You are my good Stronghold against terrifying breaking downfall
Thank You for being compassionate to uphold my faith from quitting call
While hedging me around Your fellowship’s blessing mall
So that I can serve by Your might, victoriously tall.
