Lord, Enable My Spirit
Around Your love’s secured embrace
I snuggle warmly against unbelief’s stress
Finding refuge in You amidst life’s race…
Lord, enable* my spirit to praise You…even I’m in distress.
Seeking for Your full forgiveness
I confess to You my transgressions and iniquities
Knowing that You alone can pardon my sinfulness…
Lord, enable my spirit to thank You…cleansed from guilt’s infirmities.
Combatting adversaries’ accusations
I need Your powerful might
Overcoming guilt-oppressions…
Lord, enable my spirit to cling to You…with Your favour’s delight.
*Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.
