Lord All I'M Asking

oh lord send down
the pouring rain

You clap your hands
to make the thunder and the lightening

to wash away the sins of
the world

so many of us
have been broken

we brought here
to push them wooden plows

to plant the seeds
that grow somehow

now we here to pick this cotton

that gave master all them provisions and
our souls did not prosper from the harvest

all the pain and the suffering
we bend through

they took us
from the Mother Land

they took away
our culture and language to understand

turned us into into their slaves

sold us down the river and
separate our families

abused us into submission

Lord all we're asking for is a bit of
justice and mercy because

all i'm asking

we just wanna be free
