Looming Darkness

Going about our daily lives
we grow weary as we strive
to handle government surprise.
The founding fathers would be sad
to see all the disarray .
We can not pray
before each school day.
Jobs don't pay
enough for family
to get by day by day.
They have forsaken the one
that gave us life.
Times long ago
those who forsake
his word
and disobey
were in misery
all their days.
Many nations have gone away
just as he had planned.
We each need to pray
and live our lives
giving glory each day
to the one above.
Darkness my soon fall
on all who stray away
in disarray .
