Lookng Back

I see myself myself today,
        as once I saw
              others.
      An old man walking,
               the stores.

        Wondering what,
           he rememberd of his
                 youth.

       As being one of those
              old men today,
          I remember so much.

        My first girlfriend,
             holding hands,
           with hidden kisses.

        Gathering my change
                together.
                      To buy
           her a gift.

Siting in her den holding hands,
               watching the TV.
              With her parents,
                just out of hearshot.

           Those are days ,
               I shall never
            forget.
