Looking Back
Looking back
I wonder where that young boy
would like to have been
so many years down the road
if he could see then
where he would be now
would he still embark on that journey
the one that took him here
would he perhaps delay his departure
give it more thought
make different choices
go down different paths
it is the most common
and perhaps
the most perplexing contemplation
that one can indulge in
and the one of least purpose
for that young boy
can never know
where he will end up
or what paths he will take
which
when weighed and given due consideration
is perhaps a blessing
for is it not the thrill of discovery
of facing the unknown
that makes for an interesting and exciting journey.
