Notes About The Poem

Looking At You Looking At Me

Likely it's likely
we're not where
you'd want to be.
I peer thru curled hand,
so it's you I see.

Always look people
straight in the eye.
Haven't you ever
wondered why?
Aren't the eyes the
windows of the soul?
Isn't seeing that the
most lofty goal?

While for you, you see
only one part of me.
Eyes of all peoples
are basic and same.
Skin's the part
that gets the blame.

Likely it's likely
you'll not care.
When you've looked in
before, nothing's there.
We see what we
want to see.
And that's the way
it'll always be.

Nice little rhyme, Greg - so you drew that as well? If so, very impressed!

That hand looks kinda surreal Greg, I’m guessing it’s the readers left hand, and you’re looking out through it, am I seeing what I want to see, or are you playing tricks on my eyes, this one goes a little deeper methinks, cheers David
