Looking At Stars

Looking At Stars

A million billion spots of light
So far away
Still just beyond our reach
We pray to them
We make a wish on the first one we see
Yet we know that they are not magical
They cannot hear our prayers
They do not know what our wishes are
But they are there for us
To count on a cloudless night
To watch as they cross our skies
And even for us to wish upon
That will never change
And we would not want it to
