Look In My Notebook

Every time that I say "I hate you,"
Look in my notebook

And read all hundred love poems
That I'm too shy, or proud, to show;
Don't let me know, if you read them

When I smile and won't tell you why
Look in my notebook

If the answer makes you blush too
Blame your own curiosity
And don't say I didn't warn you

The times when I tell you I'm okay
Look in my notebook

And even if my eyes are dry
Hold me and wipe away the tears
That you know I'm trying to hide

When you wonder what's been on my mind
When you want to know a reason why,
When you know that I'm telling a lie,
Look in my notebook
