Look For a Compromise
Trying to get one's point across...
With a raised voice,
Or when two parties
Talk over each other
In order to win an argument...
Is not communication.
When conflict reaches a boiling point,
It's difficult to reach a resolution.
The crosstalk becomes so incoherent...
We don't hear each other clearly.
The unnecessary screaming
And shouting is pointless and tiresome.
A much easier way is to
Turn down the heat
And look for a compromise.
When two perspectives are in dispute
It's better to bring disagreeing parties together...
To help resolve their differences
And come to a solution both can agree on.
That's effective communication.
It matters much more...
Respecting different opinions
Than "being right."
If the impasse remains unbroken
Simply agree to disagree.
