Look At the Gathering Storm

The sky is gray as late afternoon morphs into evening We are not prepared fot the gathering storm Peace is what we seek But the sky offers little hope and when the heavens burst we are taken aback We must prepare ourselves swiftly or be swept away by the howling storm or are struck by lightning An awesome display of nature's power Despite advances we cannot yet cope with the forces unleashed in a storm Look out your window Prepare yourself for the worst For nature does not make comprimises or change to suit us Prayers, rise heavenward Let's take solace in our small structures and our loved ones

what a perfect ending. Take solace in our small structures and our loved ones. I love that. About my poem on the ocean waves. I just wrote whatever came into my head to go best with my rhyming words. Not thinking of ATlantis. The poem developed as I went along. I love when that happens!!

Lovely poem, there is nothing more calming than a torrential storm, yet there is so much more to this poem. I have just skimmed the tip of the ice. Thank you for visiting my poem and there is more to that poem than meets the eye ;)

Nature...she's a powerful force. One not to be taken lightly. You've written a powerful poem here...made me shudder !! Blessed be all that find themselves in her wrath !!

Yikes! This is un-nerving, Matthew! Made me look outside, while we always have a breeze there is none this evening.:( No compromises, contemplations nor compensation from nature? When God gets angry "Prayers, rise heavenward". Thanks for sharing! Best wishes, Mikki
