Look at the Dragon Roses

Rose did not feel proud For she was wise She knew she had not created herself “Look at the dragon roses!” a little girl said. Her mother wanted to know why she called them that. See how they curl around with scales, with tiny spikes At the end? You may have something, said the mother. The rose cheered this mother. It is not often that a parent listens to her offspring. There is hope in the world, Rose thought. Proud of the mother, and thrilled to be called “A dragon rose”. Did the other roses hear? Were they excited? She waited for answers, but the garden was silent.
