Look At Me

Look at me
Only ever look at me
Even when it seems like I will never be yours
I always want you to look at me
Selfish, right?
But I always want you to yearn for me
For years and years to come
I never want it to end
No matter who you are with and what you are doing
No matter who I am with and whatever I am doing

It is in the way you look at me
With so much want when you can't even hold me
Like a sorrowful last piece
And in your eyes I am always revered
Like something akin to an ideal

Even on the days when we seem to do nothing but disagree
You have always been there
You always come back
If only to just stare at me and ask me uncomfortable questions
So only ever look at me
I don't care if there is no you and me in the end
 Always welcome me back
And your greedy remarks are always like welcome back to me
They make me feel like someone still wants me
They make me smile
Your words when you say I am glad it is over
So only ever look at me
