L-only child

Daisy waited by the door,
With laughter saved and stories stored.
She hoped one day her sister might stay,
And talk with her for more than a day.

She’d watch the years go drifting past,
Thinking, maybe this time will last.
A message sent, a call, a try—
But silence was the usual reply.

Daisy never asked for gold,
Or grand embraces bright and bold.
Just quiet walks and cups of tea,
The simple things sisters could be.

Yet still she kept a hopeful heart,
Though distance kept them worlds apart.
For love like hers does not expire—
It waits, a small and patient fire.

And somewhere deep she still believes,
Beyond the hurt and tangled leaves,
That one small moment might appear
Where sister finally draws her near.
