Longing For You

I longed for you to know Him
oh dear one of my heart
to seek true faith and turn from sin
and never once depart. 

Now you are gone and I let go
of prayers for your salvation 
into God’s hands, He surely knows 
my longing to see you in heaven. 

I long to see your face the most
your warm blue eyes and steady smile 
your humor and your antidotes 
your stories and adventures, wild. 

I longed to see your sweet heart melt
to believe, and knew you saw a glimpse
of God’s great love and kindness felt
I long to see you in His realm exist.
