Longing For Vallarta

I long for a few weeks in Vallarta
When winter winds are blowing,
I feel at home near the Playa del Sol
Can hardly wait to get going.
Warm sun and sandy beaches calling
Jalisco, I will hasten to you
To escape Kentucky's snowy ground
When my lips are turning cobalt blue.

Hi Milton. All the best for your sunshine trip down to Mexico's coast. I envy you; it would be good to escape our North Atlantic grey that delivers mist to dampen our spirit day after day. Happy New Year. Tony

Yep, I was there, hmmm, about six weeks ago. It is still the wonderful place I described, although some of the Mexican resorts have become dangerous, PV is still marvelous and safe.

Nice write Milton! Brought back memories. I remember my first steps on the sands of Puerto Vallarta was in 1996, I was on a Carnival cruise ship for seven days. It's a great place to "chill"(no pun intended) or thrill, and I had a great time. Have a blast and enjoy the sea and sun, and Mexican tequila!...ab

I love Mexico, particularly Vallarta, but I'm not a fan of tequila! Thanks for the well-wishes, Anselmo,.

"cobalt blue" - so glad you do not believe in exaggerating the truth my friend!

No, no exaggeration here. My lips turn cobalt blue. Really. Honestly! I hate cold weather. I can't breathe when it's so cold. My heart starts aching.

Much longing I hear for Puerto Vallarta in your lovely poem, Milton. That part of the world I hear is beautiful. We visited Cabo San Lucas once on a cruise stop. Its all gift of nature there. Have a wonderful time. You are right-- much relief then to escape Kentucky in winter.

Thank you so much, Vijay. We used to have a condo down there, but I sold it after Deb died. I went once after that, so now I'm going back again. Used to go two times a year, but now I'm just going back to renew old memories.

I know, and I am getting excited...hence, the poem, because we are still quite warm here in Kentucky.
