Longing

Look into my eyes. Can you see the heat the fire?
Am I the one you want? Object of your desire?
Am I the one you picture as you lay your head to sleep?
Am I the one that tempts you? The one you wish to keep?

Tell me can you hear me. Do I make you weak?
Do you burn to touch my skin? Rub your thumb along my cheek?
Would you like to feel my body? My flesh against your palm?
Taste my mouth, my kisses? Love me all night long?

Will we let the need just take us? Or will we take our time?
Run my fingers through your hair. Take your hand in mine.
Until that day I'll wait. I'll let the ache consume.
Languishing but patient.. The longing is my tomb.
