longing

i hear crickets in my heart.
feeling tired–
i tore apart the body
off the lonely mind,
the voices crawling from inside.

the voices deep, so sad and low,
i couldn't hear your words above,
i had to hide, stay quiet, pray.
there is no path to peace,
no way.

the crickets chirping in my heart
now lie down quiet,
torn-apart.
i wish i'd never had the chance
to cry it all out in your arms.
