Longing

fire
in the warm embrace of water,
an island of hot springs
your arms are-
I sail
oceans, dark as nightmares
with no rudder,
fierce foes
multiply my woes!
Oh faithful winds,
I must prevail, power my wings!
chaos of want
tears flesh from my skin
veins are rivers
arteries are streams
churning and charging to you ward,
Oh faithful winds,
I must prevail, power my wings!

Thanks for sharing this. Welcome to Poetry Soup. Meanwhile, I welcome you with God's love, expressed in John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God bless you.
