Longing

I sat there; longing
Brown leather, room for two
A hand grabbed mine
Warm skin, pink nails
Sudden hand contact
A good sign
A sure thing

We left together
Took the elevator down
She walked to the right
I walked to the left
Empty handed; both of us
A beautiful relationship? if not for:
Root canal; fear before, numbness after
