Longing...

It’s been quite some time.

The wind blows.
The lightening flashes.
The clouds thunder.
The dry leaves whisper.

With a bated breath I await
The arrival of the first rains
Scented earth, drenched roads
Steaming coffee, nonsense talks; my paradise

But before it could pitter-patter
The sun comes out, the wind stops
My hopes take a backseat; I resign;
With a sad realization

It’s been quite some time now.
