Notes About The Poem

Longevity Constest Sponsored by Sara Kendrick 05/28/26

My mum's great great great aunt lived to 111 and 121  days and was i the Guiness Book of records!

Longevity SK

The Guinness Book of Records once recorded your name I never got to meet you It's a pity, such a shame You put your longevity down to never ever getting wed And a big tot of whiskey before you went to bed! You lived to an incredible age of one hundred and eleven and 121 days Longevity was on my mother’s side it’s for good genes I do give praise I’m not sure I’d like to live that long I hope to make four score years and ten But I know one thing’s for certain lives were so much simpler back then

I want to say thank you for entering my contest and congratulations on being on the winners' list. Way to go. My parents used to say it wasn't work that aged a person but worry and I think that is somewhat true, but work can really age the joints. Sara K.

Yes, it certainly is on mum's side of the family apart from her lovely brother who died at 60. I will still be writing silly poems for as long as I am able to hold my pen! hugs jan x
