Longeivity

A cousin and a friend both lived to witness an unpleasant surprise.
They loved life but wanted their money to live longer than them.
My cousin hit the jackpot in gambling and decided to delay
or avoid paying the income tax thinking that he would be
Dead before the IRS discovered his plan. Well, he was surprised
When he realized that he was blessed with longevity that allowed him to live longer than his winnings. His luck and his fortune ran Out, resulting in him paying the tax.

My friend acquired wealth over time but ran short on money as his
Life was being blessed with longevity. Standing alone one day and
Looking sad, I inquired of the source of his unhappiness whereupon
He informed me that he was living too long because his money was
Running out. I concluded that he would rather be dead than poor.

I also concluded that Life is indeed a splendor thing, but it can also be
A very surprising thing as attested by my cousin and my friend.
