Long Time No See

it's an invisible injury
                                 but light

                          sure can hurt

                   and for something
                                  so quiet
                                      noise

                   sure can pulverize

but it explains why you haven't 
            seen or heard from me

After which I stepped out into rush hour with a bus pulling up in full screaming squeal and I just thought "wow, that's loud"- then it dawns on me what's weird, I'm not hitting the deck covering my ears as have been the last several years.
