Long Gone
Somewhere dark, between the mayhem and the madness
Buried deep in the ultimate sadness
Lies a bleeding heart, waiting to heal
Trying to feel
What used to be real
All now part and parcel of the broken deal
Left alone and wanting
With faded memories so haunting
And the daunting task of trying love again, to bury the pain
And try again.
Just a naive fool, who never learned in school,
it's dangerous to play in the deep end of the pool,
breaking loves golden rule, now I sit in the dunces stool,
With a broken heart, so uncool
Teardrops snicker as they fall from my face,
In mocking gesture, in full disgrace
And dance upon the floor in this barren place.
The day she vanished without a trace.
Now I've been replaced
No hope left
No saving grace.
So damm hard to move on
To find a love in this great beyond
After being used like a worthless pawn
My heart just won't take it
I'm so long gone.
