Long Gone

Hey dad
this one's for you
a few lines and rhymes
and some thoughts too
this isn't aboout you
it's more about me
and my own secret desires
to be completey set free
free from anger and doubt
and sadness too
free from the lies that are false
and the memories that are true
to pretend that you were there
through the tough times and the sad
guiding and supporting
for once a good dad
I wish you had been there
to see my life
the wins and losses
not causing strife
I hope this one works out for you
I really and truly do
and that he wont feel lost and abandonded
like the rest of us do
one day you'll realize
these words are true
I have one last sentiment
to share with you
long gone are the days
that excuses will be made for you
and further gone
are the days that I believed them true
