Long Drives and Warm Days

Reminisce on scars we have and beat each other's stories. Drive with me and tell me of, the marks upon your back. You tell me of the past, when you were young and careless. I tell you they do not matter, for the past I have a knack. Country roads are winding, they are reeling up my memory. Why am I stuck I ask, why am I caged in recollection. You tell me you miss those days when your hair was long. And you are in the past with me, giving me affection. We are in the present times but I live for yesterday today. Time incircles us it is happening in side both us still. How I see you, you are young and your skin is soft. Time hasn't aged you dear, and of tomorrow I'v had my fill. On a river twenty years ago there they can find us Laying on checkered blankets soaking up our sun Carefree and full of light looking at the clouds. Wondering how Father Time could turn his back upon his son.
