Lonesome Melody
I heard Precy singing Unchained Melody
One August night, the sky was bloody
The stars were weeping in Memphis Tennessee
The teary world was there to see
Jail house rock, what a tragedy
Marie was humming a lonesome melody
The whole night sky was turned to gray
For a bright star drifted away
Full bookings at heartbreak hotel
Colonel Parker was there to tell
The sad ringing of the bell
Was like a tragic spell
Pink Cadillac was gently running
It was a day for the weeping
But the odd tunes of his passing
Left the Curies wondering
In memory of the King of Rock n' Roll, August 16, 1977.
