LONELY NIGHTS

The pillows suffer the most As they fill the void The empty space My hands glide upon. Lonely nights know bounds not Neither single nor those who've tied the knot. They darken the sky And make time crawl, refusing to fly. How I despise these lonely nights Not just because she's out of sight But in the battle for sleep, I struggle My pillows, the only things I wrestle. In the silence, thoughts echo loud Whispers of memories, haunting, proud. Yet in the darkest hours, hope may spark That dawn will bring light, and a new start.
