Lonely Lighthouse

Lighthouse calls to all Passing ships on the night waves; They speak without human voice. In past centuries, It once needed humans for Completing its only task; Now lonely lighthouse Cries out for companionship, But ships keep passing on by. Automation comes, And keeps on coming; humans Without jobs is its downside. Lonely lighthouse has No company to visit; Power is not everything.

Your poem is delicate in its metaphoric beauty and touches me deeply, M.L. Our loneliness is felt, as well, as humanity becomes more like the automated lighthouse, lost in the electronic devices of our daily lives. A deeply thought provoking write. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Hello M.L. Kiser, the lighthouse is beautiful. I like them all, each have a beauty in their own way. If I coul i would live in a lighthouse. I'd be by the water and that suites me. have a nice evening my friend.

There's just something magical about them; they are great fuel for writers and artists. It may be that the sea is such a wonderful place to be that, it lends a magical atmosphere to any lighthouse, but I think it's the lighthouse itself. Thanks again, Vijay.
