Lonely Hearts
Somewhere within the midnight darkness hides,
within the shadows of a moody moon,
the notions love will be appearing soon;
bleak thoughts that only lonely hearts confide.
For it is true a lonely heart will yearn
with longings for a tender love that’s real
in hopes that they will somehow, someday feel
that sweet caress that make the passions burn.
As Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band
once sang their songs of life and love and woe,
a yearning heart, enslaved by life’s command,
is destined to forever feel the blow,
an emptiness of loveless life unplanned
that only lonely hearts will ever know.
