Lonely
Petals fall as the
Paper unfurls and the
World blurs
And softens
And shrinks
Shadows grasp me
Poke and prod
Claws in my ears
Suns burn my eyes
They sit me down and
Mumble, indistinct
Send me sprawling
Obstacle course sprinting
Cat caught in a storm
I do what I can, I
Grab hold of the glass
That they offer,
The pain that they gift me
Warm rivers flow
Heaven heart earth
Sharpens, sharp into sight
I cannot look
I cannot
I cannot look away
It is so bright
I can see but it is not
Soft
It is not welcome
It is not
Like it was
The world is too sharp and it
Cuts my hands I am
River flowing
Heaven crying
Heart all alone
Earth sharpening
Its knives and its focus and its
Harsh expectations
I cannot stay
I cannot
I cannot stay here
I cast aside the sea
And let the trees close in
Blurring the edges
Hiding the world
Once again
