Lonelinesses
Switch off the daylight, please, rescind the wind
outside the creaky window, draw the blinds
and take your clothes off, so our twinned
lovehungry shadows, souls, hearts and minds
could be a single entity again.
Oh, how I love when your aloneness finds
my loneliness in darkness, or, say, when
your timid kiss meets mine, the vigorous…
Alas, your wristwatch says it’s almost ten
o’clock and you should leave. I’m eager as
I never was before to know why
two lonelinesses cannot coalesce.
- Well, how’s about Friday?
- I’ll come by.
